Police Blotter: Pitbull Problem, a Holy Batting Cage and the Silicon Seas

A run-down of recent crime and police activity in Pacifica.

May 25 - 12:58a.m: A vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of Carmel Avenue. The caller witnessed two unknown males getting into the car and possibly driving toward Highway 1. Later, police detained one suspect and the vehicle was returned to the rightful owner. 1:36a.m: A noise disturbance was reported by a resident of the 100 block of Carmel Avenue. The noise was possibly a small motorbike.

May 26 - 5:57p.m: A male and female were reportedly engaged in a verbal arguement at 5150 Cabrillo Highway. The man was holding a beer can and was cited for being drunk in public. 5:35p.m: Pitbull Problem--A resident of the 300 block of Outlook Heights reported that they had a problem with a neighbor walking their pitbull off-leash in the area.

May 27 - 3:38a.m: A driver was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) at the intersection of Fassler Avenue and Driftwood Circle. 11:59a.m: Silicon Seas--A woman reportedly dumped computer parts into the ocean at 2100 Beach Boulevard. The suspect was unknown.

May 28 - 7:56p.m: A resident of the 500 block of Del Mar Avenue reported that a stereo unit was stolen from a vehicle parked in front of the owner's home. 11p.m: A driver was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) on Cabrillo Highway.

May 29 - 9:12a.m: A resident of the 700 block of Rockaway Beach Avenue reported a vandalized vehicle. The windshield and passenger-side window of the victim's vehicle had been smashed overnight.

May 30 - 6:25p.m: Holy Batting Cage--The softball field of Terra Nova High School was vandalized by an unknown suspect. Pacifica Police responded to the scene to find holes cut into the net of a softball batting cage on the high school's property.

May 31 - 10:30a.m: A group of unknown juveniles had reportedly vandalized a property belonging to American Legion. Damage had been done to windows of a hall on the 500 block of Buel Avenue, and the hall manager suspected a group of juveniles he had seen in the area. The damage was suspected to be caused by BB pellets. 7:32p.m: A noise disturbance was reported at the 300 block of Bancroft Way. A motorcyclist had allegedly been riding up and down the street at a high speed.
