Police Blotter: Creeper in the Bushes, Fisticuffs, Lewd Loudspeaker

A run-down of crime and police activity in Pacifica.

Sept. 7 - 9:57a.m: A USPS mail carrier reported a loose dog nearby Catalina Avenue and Melrose Court. 5:05p.m: A solicitors complaint was reported regarding a woman and child panhandling in front of the Safeway on Manor Drive. 8:30p.m: A home robbery was reported on the 100 block of Essex Way. An unknown subject had gained entry to the home through an unlocked sliding door and stole a laptop, digital camera and various personal items valued at about $1500.

Sept. 8 - 12:30a.m: An unknown male was reported to police for seeming to be drunk in public. The man was yelling and stumbling in the street on the 700 block of Noriega Way. 11:50a.m: A passerby reported vandalism to a Samtrans shelter in front of Linda Mar Center. A glass panel on the structure had been shattered. 3:22p.m: A tenant of Pacifica Park apartment complex was reported to police for being belligerent, having “cussed out” a leasing office employee. 6:42p.m: Possible crab poachers were reported to police. The reporting party alleged that fishermen on Pacifica Pier were illegally fishing crab, and requested an investigation by the department of fish and game.

Sept. 9 - 7:18p.m: A shopper at Linda Mar Center reported to police that a car, described as a white Toyota Camry, was parked in the shopping center parking lot with a “car load of people.” The reporting party stated a concern for the passengers within including an infant, possibly six months old, that was not strapped into a car-seat.

Sept. 10 - 2:48p.m: Creeper in the bushes. A man, described to be in his 30s or 40s, allegedly cam out of the bushes on a walking trail near Cabrillo Highway and San Pedro Avenue and harassed a female passerby. The woman reported that the suspect told her she was “looking good” then followed her as she walked along the trail. No further incident was reported. 4:22p.m: A resident of Santa Rosa Avenue reported a driver doing “donuts and fishtailing” in the street. The vehicle was described as a black 1973 Cutlass with a Giants logo. 7:12p.m: A resident of the 100 block of Bayview Road reported that a mermaid statue fountain was stolen from the home’s front yard overnight.

Sept. 11 - 1:58a.m: A resident of the 100 block of Esplanade Avenue overheard a verbal argument between neighbors and reported the incident to police. A male and a female were heard, along with pounding on a door to the residence and someone yelling “I’m going to kill you.” 8p.m: A resident of the 800 block of Linda Mar Boulevard reported that a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence was vandalized overnight. The sides of the vehicle had been damaged with several key scratches.

Sept. 12 - 9:52a.m: Fisticuffs. The manager of Safeway at Linda Mar Center called police to report two males engaged in a physical altercation in the parking lot of the shopping center. 1:52p.m: Lewd Loudspeaker. A noise complaint was filed against teens on the deck of a house on the 1200 block of Terra Nova Boulevard. The juveniles were allegedly screaming obscenities through a bullhorn to students of Ortega School who were just below the residence’s deck.
