Police Blotter: A Criminal Coin Collector, A Rock Robber and Where's Gizmo?
A run-down of recent police activity and crime in Pacifica
Mar. 1 - 10:56pm: A driver was cited for driving under the influence at the intersection of Adobe Avenue and Linda Mar Avenue. The subject was seen purchasing alcohol and stumbling into their vehicle.
Mar. 2 - 5:10am: An unknown suspect stole tools from a truck parked on the 700 block of Big Bend Drive. 7am: An unknown suspect entered a home on the 100 block of Hilton Lane to steal tools worth an estimated $800. The home was vacant and undergoing construction at the time. 5:55pm: A caller reported a dog-walker to Pacifica Police for having seven dogs off-leash in Pomo Park. Off-leash dog walking is a violation of city ordinances. 12:58pm: Where's Gizmo-- A yellow Pekingese dog by the name of Gizmo was reported missing.
Mar. 3 - 6pm: Criminal Coin Collector-- An unknown suspect broke into coin-operated laundry machines in an apartment complex on Santa Rosa Avenue. The thief stole about $400 dollars worth of coins from the machines.
Mar. 4 - 1:31am: A woman at reported that she had been hit in the face by a 24-year-old man. Winters employees reported that they heard of the incident from the woman but did not witness the assault or see the suspect. 4pm: An unknown suspect kicked-in the front door of a residence on the 300 block of Magellan Drive to remove personal property from the home. The suspect took $950 in cash and jewelry estimated at $8,200 in value.
Mar. 5 - 12:15pm: An unknown suspect stole a refrigerator, antique candy machine, ice machine and bed frame from the driveway of a residence on the 500 block of Edgemar Avenue. The victim suspected that the thief loaded the property in a vehicle and drove off. 4:50pm: Rock Robber-- A resident of the 1400 block of Crespi Drive reported that "decorative rocks" has been stolen from the landscaping to the front of their home.
Mar. 6 - 2:31am: The vehicle of a resident of the 1000 block of Rio Vista was "egged" and shot with a paint ball gun which left dents in the car. 8:25pm: A resident of the 1000 block of Oddstad Boulevard reported having heard a firearm discharge in the area. One shot was heard. 8:26pm: A driver was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) at the intersection of Adobe Drive and Linda Mar Avenue.
Mar. 7 - 2:08pm: A group of about five juveniles were reported to Pacifica Police for engaging in a fight at Linda Mar Shopping Center. The fight resulted in at least one injury by the caller's account, who said they assisted a young man who was bleeding from the face. 10:42pm: A resident of Flores Drive called Pacifica Police to report the suspicion that a neighbor in the area was selling illegal drugs.
