I was brought up by two remarkable parents who taught me about courtesy, consideration, and respect by demonstrating it daily. Entering the field of etiquette was a natural transition. It wasn't about fancy place settings or multiple forks; in fact, I didn't experience that until much later, on a date. My parents focused on how to respectfully interact with others, and how you present yourself to the world.
With a solid foundation like that, I had the confidence and certainty on how to bring up our two sons; it was like having a manual. Having a great and involved husband was a bonus.
