Thank you for running this story Mirna; had you not, it no doubt wouldn't have been made public.Read More Too many biotech employees are either injured or have illnesses/diseases from biolab occupational exposure to bacteria, fungi, viruses, insects, and/or chemicals. The biotech companies are very clever in not letting workplace acquired injuries/illnesses/diseases known. Sad to say; the cities, towns, counties, states; as well the governmental agencies, who are to enforce occupational safety and health regulations the biotech industry should adhere to, merely turn a blind eye because of fear of loss of revenue. Biotech is big in California and everyone wants to "hear no evil", "see no evil" and "speak no evil" when it comes to health and safety violations committed in the biotech arena. All misdeeds by the bioetech employer are ignored and/or covered up. This was the case with my son who worked as an Assistant Researcher in the lab of a biotech company in Davis; only his company was involved in agriculture research and development instead of pharmaceuticals. Again, thank you for submitting the truth.

Correction - interred. He never "interned" there. The delete button isn't working in IS.Read More

Wow. the crematory was cremated. Hope the chapel can be restored. That is where my father-in-law isRead More interned.

"The suspect, Edward Lang Hargrove, was also in the coffee shop, when Hargrove left his table,Read More went outside and returned carrying a rifle.” Why ID the murderer as a suspect. If living isn’t a person called a suspect or defendant prior to conviction or if dead upon the competition of an investigation that proves they are no longer a suspect? In this instance should Edward Lang Hargrove not be referred to as a murderer?

Forever a hero! Rest in peace Officer Krings. Your quick thinking saved countless lives and you willRead More always be remembered as a REAL HERO! Job well done! Rest in peace. Brian

Keeping it local and real! Sounds like one of the guys working out that the 24hour Fitness.
Edward sawacki May 6, 2013 at 11:51 am
What a looser! Sounds like a methanfedamine user. How pathetic his female passenger must be to beRead More associated with that kind of person. I hope they throw the book at him.
GOPSTAR May 6, 2013 at 11:21 am
This is just one of your local tweekers going about his daily business.

How ironic that I previously lived in the 324 block of Gateway & she was later found in the 400Read More block of the same place. The entire situation was terrible. Cece is missed by many...her friends, children & especially Rita! RIP Cecelia..u may be gone, but never forgotten.

A beautiful person inside and out was taken from us! How could anyone be so cruel to take aRead More daughter, a mother, a friend, a sister, a niece.....and more! In a moment a piece of our hearts were taken forever, never to be forgotten-never to be replaced! Cecilia.. I look up everyday and see your beautiful face! I love you, forever.. JD

There might be bad elements there....but she was killed in San Bruno, later found in Pacifica.
Yoyo May 7, 2013 at 06:31 pm
Your bs. So stay out of it
Scott Mathews May 7, 2013 at 05:03 pm
Juba....Were you there? I posted what I saw and heard because I was there. If you know theRead More "real story", please enlighten me. I'm tired of reading this crap about how inaccurate this story is from peope like yourself and the others that posted above. If it's truly inaccurate, tell me what really happened, don't just say its all wrong without an explanation. Of course it was an accident, nobody wants to hit a pedestrian and crash their car! The real question is how did this accident occur? None of you people "in the know" seem to want to explain what really happened...now that's BS.
Juba May 7, 2013 at 12:22 am
Well knoe the real story before putting this bs. IT WAS A ACCIDENT .
Pearl May 9, 2013 at 01:49 am
Kudos to FCFD for their outstanding reponse to this tragedy. FCFD firefighters and paramedics haveRead More my respect and support.

I saw the foster City firetrucks coming and they were going as fast as they could, and they madeRead More that turnaround in one shot, I could believe how that firetruck made that U-Turn in one shot, That fire truck driver was great. We stopped for them to make the U-turn and I was amazed how he turned that big truck right around with no problem. They made it there as fast as they could.

I would like to know the Highway Patrol Dispatch ftime from 911 which takes forever...Remember toRead More call the cops from whatever town you are in...Not the 911 Sacramento dispatch time...

Was Ms. Mona on the street on the day of the accident? From what she writes it appears so. If not,Read More then I suggest that she not believe everything that she reads in the press. This certainly was a terrible accident and I feel for what the family is going through. However, we have become a nation that loves to believe the worst of people and we do not look for the good points. My question would be, has Mr. Heath had any criminal or driving convictions in the last 20 years? It would appear that he was a very productive member of society and I am sure that he probably panicked when and if he realised that he had hit someone. Having read the story, I wonder how many of us would react if we were involved in such an unfortunate accident. Just my two cents worth.

I am so sad for Michael Black's family having to deal with this tremendous loss of their loved one.Read More I didn't know he had a 16 year old son.
Renee Mona April 19, 2013 at 10:23 pm
This killer of Michael Black needs to go to prison for much longer than 4 years. He was drivingRead More erratically before he smashed his Mercedes into Michael, instantly killing him, and then fled the scene. He hid at home for two days, probably so he couldn't be tested for DUI, and the Santa Rosa prosecutor needs to make him pay for this horrible killing. Now Michael's 16 year old son will grow up without his father.

Thank you for sharing the league's story with the community. Awareness plays a key role inRead More prevention because it puts more sets of eyes on the area. We are very grateful for the outpouring of support: resident Christian Ryvlin made a generous donation to our league, as did Mayor Len Stone and PGSL's Falzon family. Pacifica is a wonderful place to live. The misguided choices of a few cannot undermine the sense of community in our beautiful coastal city nor can they quell the enthusiasm of our spirited softball players!
Stacie Chan (Editor) April 17, 2013 at 06:12 pm
Very sad story, but thank you, Christa, for including how the community can help!
Jo Tog April 17, 2013 at 01:12 pm
Sad. I think this happens every year.
