Sharp Park Beach, Pier & Promenade

Flag as Inappropriate

The enormous, stark cement pier jutting into the ocean in Pacifica's Sharp Park District is also known as the Pacifica Pier, with the thin yet lengthy Sharp Park Beach next to it on the north and south.

The pier draws anglers from across California hoping to catch surf fish chasing their prey toward the beach, or, during late summer, salmon and striped bass following schools of smaller bait fish along the coast. No fishing license is required on Pacifica Pier and crabbing is also a popular pastime on the pier.

Sharp Park Beach as well as the promenade nearby, feature picnic facilities, viewpoints and hiking trails, as well as a cafe right at the base of the 1,140-foot long pier. Wind and waves can be unpredictable and especially fierce along the beach and pier, so closures may occur at any time.
