While the café started in 2002, the building -- an old general store -- dates from 1906, and owner Rick Bennett has done a wonderful job attending to the details that give Salada Beach Café a classic feel. Checkered floors, dark furniture and elegant light fixtures meld easily with more eclectic elements: a magenta exterior, a rotating exhibit of local artists and an extensive lending library.

The atmosphere is warm and casual; most of the customers are regulars. There are plenty of tables inside and a few seats on the makeshift patio. Take advantage of the breakfast/brunch menu or just come for coffee and housemade pies and pastries. Salada Beach Café provides wifi for customers and regularly hosts live music.
