The Pacifica Resource Center aims to aid Pacificans in need, whether it be through free groceries, housing assistance or financial support and advice. It is a project of San Francisco-based Tides Center, which provides fiscal, back-office and legal support for social justice-oriented nonprofits across the country. If there's something the center can't provide, however, it also functions as a focal point for county, state and federal safety net programs. Fresh produce and baked goods are donated to the center by Safeway, the Pacifica Farmers Market and Pacifica Gardens and are available for free to the public via appointment or drop-in. Someone seeking financial or housing assistance must be approved based on family size and income level.
