It isn't the restrained Japanese decor that makes this restaurant particularly American. Most of the extensive menu consists of fare now standard for a hole-in-the-wall sushi establishment. On the bottom of the last page, however, you might notice anomalies - special rolls with names like XXX, Y2K or Mexican Burrito. You might notice the sign on the wall that invites you to try the Freedom Roll challenge, that is, a free dinner if you can eat a four pound hand roll in under 30 minutes.

In addition to traditional Japanese cuisine, the restaurant offers Korean soon tofu soup and lists substantial specials like All-You-Can-Eat rolls and bottomless cups of hot sake. Serious portions of quality sushi are what draw diners to this unassuming restaurant.
