Rolling Stones Cover Band Comes to Pacifica, January Jazz Supports Music Education at Pacifica Schools

2013-14 Body Glove Mavericks Invitational

Watch the big wave surf competition live at the Mavericks Viewing Festival with big screens, live music, food and drinks. Gates open at 7:30 a.m., on the grounds of the Oceano Hotel & Spa, just down the road from Mavericks in Princeton Harbor. After the contest, continue the party and rock out to the Big Dreamers starting at 7 p.m. at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. In addition to live TV coverage starting at 1:30 p.m. on Time Warner CableCox CommunicationsVerizon FiOSDirecTVDISH and more, the entire contest will stream live on universalsports.com and mavericksinvitational.com.

Learn About the 
Amah Mutsun Ohlone at San Pedro County Park

"Tending the Wild: Native American Knowledge and the Management of California’s Natural Resources," a free program about the Amah Mutsun Ohlone, will be a comprehensive study on how these local Native Americans managed the land for their food and survival. 

Vallemar School 5th Annual EWASTE Fundraiser

Drop your ewaste off at 377 Reina Del Mar Blvd. in Pacifica from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Grab some pizza and enjoy some baked goods to support Vallemar School. If you have working iPads that you no longer need, the school will take them off your hands and use them at the school with the students.

Pacifica Lions Club E-Waste Drive

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Pacifica Lions are helping to keep Pacifica green by offering an e-waste collection at 1809 Palmetto Ave. Come and bring your e-waste and clear up space in your garage, attic or storage room.

The Unauthorized Rolling Stones

The Unauthorized Rolling Stones, a Rolling Stones cover band, will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Pacifica Performances Mildred Owen Concert Hall, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. This is their fourth time playing there. Members of the band are Rudy Colombini (Mick Jagger) on lead, backing vocals, guitar, harmonica and keyboards, Dave Garcia (Keith Richards) on guitar, Mark Banning (Ronnie Wood) on guitar, Jeff Irving (Charlie Watts) on drums, and Kenny Crampton (Bill Wyman) on bass. Tickets are $20 general. $17 seniors (62+) and students with current ID. $15 members. $12 senior/student members. Under 18 free.

January Jazz Night at 
at Pacifica Moose Lodge

Hosted by Music Matters in Pacifica (a program of the Pacifica Education Foundation), January Jazz Night features Pacifica School District Jazz Band students from Cabrillo, IBL, Ocean Shore and Vallemar with special guest, the Terra Nova H.S. Jazz Band. Musical line-up includes MoJazz, Ruben Salcido, Ragazzi Continuo and more. The event, featuring at 4 p.m. and 7 p .m. show, supports music education in Pacifica and offers babysitting from 7 to 10 p.m., a silent auction, food and drinks.

Pacifica Beach Coalition Pedro Point Headlands Play Day

Meet at the Pedro Point Firehouse to hike up the headlands and water plants, remove Pampas grass, widen the western edge of the Middle Ridge Trail and review new trail into staging area.
