A Haunted Hostel, Costume Contests, Pumpkin Decorating — Pacifica Has a Big Weekend Planned

Here are some Halloween events happening in and around Pacifica this weekend.

Friday, Oct. 25

Good Shepherd Fall Fun Festival

Come in costume and enjoy an evening of Halloween fun with face painting, games, a sweet shoppe, cotton candy, jumpy houses and obstacle course and more. $1 tacos and $3 bacon wrapped hotdogs.

FESTIVAL! Dia de los Muertos

It's the Pacifica Sharp Park Library's first annual Dia de los Muertos Festival, which will include live music by the Trio Sol de America Mariachi trio, food and drink, Sugar Skull Decorating, and a Children's Area with Face Painting and a Calaveras Mask making station. Free at 6:30 p.m.

Sunset Ridge Annual Boo Fest 

The Boo Fest is a community-wide event that is an annual tradition at Sunset Ridge and includes activities for the whole family. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the Halloween themed events, as well as things like the Scholastic Book Fair and raffles. For those who wear their costumes there will be a costume held parade at 7:30 pm.  The haunted house is always a favorite event, and will take place in the school halls. In addition to the holiday themed events there will be games, crafts, and lots of good food including cotton candy, a bake sale and a Red Rooster food truck.  Rounding out the evening events there will be a Scholastic Book Fair, and the San Mateo County Human Services Agency will have staff on hand to answer any questions people may have about their services. Admission is free.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Rockaway Hollow

Rockaway Hollow at Rockaway Beach promises to be a fun free event for the whole family with trick or treating at local merchants, a parade for kids at 4 p.m. Come in your best costumes, win $50 Visa cards given for top kid costime in each age category. Pumpkin decorating and more.

Vallemar Scare Fair

Hosted by the Vallemar school PTO. Games, Maze, Food, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Glow Sticks. Enjoy a haunted house, costume contest and more. The Fun Jail is hosted by the 5th graders. 

11th Annual Haunted Hostel Halloween
Spend the evening with ghosts, goblins and ghouls as the Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel hosts the 11th Annual Haunted Hostel Halloween. This spooky event is full of fun games, crafts and live entertainment, and offers the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family along for a night of fun. Come on by and take part in Halloween themed crafts and activities, all while showing off your scariest and craziest costumes.  

Night Hike: Creatures That Glow in the Park!

Join State Park Interpreter Rosanna for a night hike through the forest of Butano State Park along the Six Bridges Trail. Bring a flashlight, a black light (if you have one), and closed-toes shoes. You will discover bioluminescent animals and plants that live in the forest, and get spooked by the night creatures! Lot of fun, guaranteed! Meet at the Visitor Center by the entrance kiosk. Casa Pacifica 35th Annual Bazaar

Come be spooked in the haunted garden of Casa Pacifica, a senior citizens apartment complex at 1060 Terra Nova Blvd. that's celebrating Halloween and holding its annual fundraiser selling housewares, jewelry, clothing, knick knacks and baked goods to fund recreational and social programs throughout the year.

Saturday, Oct. 26 & Sunday, Oct. 27

Spooktacular

The entire Pacifica Community Center becomes a Haunted House at the 10th annual Spooktacular with fun carnival games for all ages. Come in costume and enjoy this annual Halloween tradition hosted by the City of Pacifica Parks, Beaches and Recreation.

Sunday, Oct. 27

Cabrillo Podiatry Group's Halloween 5k and Kids' Run

Hosted by Pacifica Runners. This is a fun, inexpensive 5k for all levels of runners and walkers and all ages.  Halloween costumes encouraged, but are not necessary!  All participants will be entered into free raffles.  Kids who complete the 5k will get a goodie bag and toe token prize and those who do the kids' run will get a medal and goodie bag.  Consider signing up online or in person.  Registration starts at 8 a.m.
