Spindrift School of Performing Arts Presents 'Once Upon A Mattress'


"Once Upon A Mattress" is the winter show production of the critically acclaimed Spindrift School of Performing Arts, and it opens Friday night. Due to needed repairs of the Spindrift Theater's main stage, this year SSPA will present their winter show at the Oceana Little Theatre at Oceana High School. Dec. 20 through Jan. 5. Oceana Little Theatre at Oceana High School, 401 Paloma. All seats $15. For tickets call 650-738-8648 or purchase at the door.

Coastal Clean Up Day

It’s that time of year again when the state’s largest volunteer event gives all Californians the chance to learn about and actively participate in conserving coastal resources.  Join your fellow Pacificans at 9 a.m. to pick up and clear away debris collecting along our beaches, parks, shoreline, creeks, parking lots and neighborhood streets from Mussel Rock to Sweeney Ridge to Pedro Point before the winter rains wash it all into the ocean.

"Zelda Darling" Author Book Event at Florey's

Book event at Florey's with authors Penny Lazzari Thompson and Christine Area. Author Penny Lazzari Thompson will be on hand to discuss and sign copies of her book, "Zelda Darling," a fun young-adult book set in San Francisco. Also joining the author is Christine Area, a 1993 Terra Nova graduate, who is best friends with Thompson's daughter, Mary, and has known the family for over 30 years. She wrote an additional chapter which follows the end of Thompson's story. Her chapter is titled "The Curious Question of the Ladybug Spots." It features the "whimsical" Pixie Cee, a good friend of Zelda Darling's. At 2120 Palmetto Ave., Pacifica.

Northern California Family Dog Rescue Adoption Event

Come and find the best Christmas present ever. Just look at those puppy dog faces...who knows who you'll meet from noon to 3 p.m. at the Family Dog Rescue event at Annabee's Doggie Boutique and Cafe on Highway 1 near Fresh & Easy in Pacifica.

Santa at Mazzetti's Bakery

The young and old are invited from 10 a.m. to noon to meet Santa at Mazzetti's Bakery and get a free photo taken with Old Saint Nick. "We will have a professional photographer taking photos. This will be our fourth year doing this," said Julie Mazzetti.  "We also give out little baked gifts." At 101 Manor Drive, Pacifica.
