Vallemar Students Clean Up Litter, Lobby State Assemblyman For Turtle Protection
Students signed a pledge to protect seat turtles and asked Assemblyman Jerry Hill to do the same.
had an amazing Earth Day clean up on Friday, April 20.
Over 470 students participated and cleaned up 32 pounds of garbage from the campus and surrounding areas. We cleaned up less garbage than last year! The most unusual item that was collected was something that looked like a hockey puck.
The classes that participated in a turtle assembly with Chris Pincetchwere very enthusiastic about writing letters to support AB1776 to make the Leatherback sea turtle California's state marine reptile.

My daughter, Maya Boysen, a first grader at Vallemar, was able to present those letters and petitions directly to Assemblyman Jerry Hill during the Pacifica Beach Coalition celebration.
