PHOTOS: Check Out the Dump Site on Earth Day

Tons of trash and recycling were collected.

Although we don't have a final count yet on how many pounds of trash and recycling were collected by thousands of volunteers this Earth Day, we're anticipating a huge number.

According to Lynn Adams, Pacifica Beach Coalition president, last year about 23,000 pounds were collected in Pacifica. That's an amazing number.

While we wait for this year's weight, check out these photos from the dump site at the old wastewater treatment plant on Palmetto Avenue. It looks like some strange stuff was collected and volunteers had a lot of fun.
