Update: Pacificans Take Prizes for Livestock at Fair
Competitors from the Pacifica 4H are starting to take home prizes
After five months of preparation, several competitors with Pacifica 4H showed livestock this weekend at the San Mateo County Fair. The local group has 14 kids ages five to nineteen competing this year. Here are their wins so far:
On Saturday Jenna Jaramillo took 2nd place for meat pen chickens. Jaramillo also took Grand Champion for turkeys.
On Sunday Rebecca Bernal took Reserve Best in Show with her Black Himalayan Buck, "Summer Safari."
Today the participants will be showing lambs. Below is a schedule of the youth livestock and small animal showings throughout the week. Check back for more updates on prizes.

4 pm Sheep Showmanship followed by Breeding Sheep Judging
6 pm Market Sheep Judging
Tuesday
12 noon Poultry Showmanship followed by Show Bird Judging
4 pm Cattle Showmanship
5 pm Dairy Heifer Judging followed by Beef Breeding Judging
6 pm Market Beef Judging
