Happy Mother's Day!

In honor of Mother's Day, a roundup of my five favorite mama blogs.

In honor of Mother's Day, I had planned to write a long, heartfelt post about becoming a mother…and then I realized I already a couple of days ago.

So instead of making it all about me, I'd like to give you a Mother's Day gift: a roundup of my five favorite mama blogs. Shoo everyone out of the kitchen, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and enjoy.

1. Citymama. I met Stefania not long after A.J. was born, and I've read her blog faithfully ever since. I never tire of her writing, her recipes, and her delicious children—plus now Baby Dash! Positively edible! If you haven't yet discovered the confection that is Citymama, now's your chance to indulge.

 2. From Stage Dives to Station Wagons. I've never had the pleasure of meeting Laura in person, but I feel I know her through her hilarious blog. She and I are kindred spirits, and when we finally do get together…well, let me just say we have Big Plans that involve World Domination.

3. Motherlode. Lisa Belkin's kids are much older than mine, but I read her blog religiously. Mainly because she's a wonderful writer, but also because it gives me a little shiver of terror to think of my own children entering the teen years. Check Motherlode out, you'll be glad you did.

4. Her Bad Mother. With a title like that, how could you not love Catherine Connors's blog? Catherine is honest, funny, and not afraid to tell it like it is. After all, "Bad is the new good."

5. Whiskey in My Sippy Cup. Her name is Shannon, but you can call her Mr. Lady—if you're nasty, which I totally am. Whiskey in My Sippy Cup is the blog I wish I could write, but I'm also kind of happy I can't because then what would I read?

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some kids who need to be cuddled…okay, okay, it's me who needs the cuddling. Then we've got a Lego city to finish building and! Make-Your-Own Pizza Night! It doesn't get any better than this.
