The red-hot Pacifica American 9-and 10-year-old all-stars finally ran into a hurdle they couldn't vault.
Their historic season ended with a mercy-ruled five inning 11-1 loss to Woodcreek (Roseville) in the Northern California Division 2 finals Friday at Stonehouse Field in Rancho Murieta (near Sacramento), the Granite Bay Press Tribune reports.
Pacifica (12-3), which just last week won its first , was within one victory of winning the NorCal title.
They were unbeaten going into the finals of the double-elimination tournament, but Friday's loss followed a 2-0 setback at the hands of Woodcreek the previous day.
