Pacifica Islanders Capture Pacific Title

Minor league football team improves to 9-0.

The Pacifica Islanders trounced the Nevada Dream 59-7 in the Gridiron Developmental Football League's Pacific Conference championship game on Saturday at Terra Nova High, the Pacifica Tribune reports.

Islanders quarterback Myles Gates was involved in six touchdowns (four passing and two rushing) to lead the route.

The Islanders (9-0) will play host to the California Rhinos of the West Coast Football Association on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Terra Nova in what will be the first of several upcoming nonleague games before resuming league play against a yet unknown league opponent later this summer.
