Fans Warned About Counterfeit 49ers Playoff Tickets Possibly Circulating for Today's Game

Game sold out, so fakes can't be replaced.

As Bay Area football fans gear up for today's big NFL divisional playoff game hosted at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, 49ers officials working with San Francisco police are reminding fans about possible counterfeit tickets.

Football fans seeking tickets for today's game -- scheduled to begin at 1:35 p.m. with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the New Orleans Saints -- should look out for counterfeit tickets that authorities believe are circulating through the ticket market.

Football officials said some counterfeit tickets have already been confiscated.

To ensure fans are carrying authentic tickets authorities said to only buy tickets through reputable vendors such as the NFL Ticket Exchange managed by Ticketmaster.

Fans are urged to know their ticket source before purchasing from second-hand or non-official sources.

Officials warned that because today's game is sold out counterfeit tickets cannot be replaced.

What a magnificent win today, thanks to Vernon Davis! Root for NY tomorrow, so we get another home game. Do you all see the Sign Hill red SF's, similar to the Giants' orange and red one 18 months ago!

The 49ers will be hosting next Sunday's game against the NY Giants!!! Go Niners!!!!

Go Giants.... just knocked off the 15-1 Green Bay Packers.... Smith had the game of his career vs a weak NO pass defense but wait till he gets a real pass rush in his face without a blitz leaving 1-1 coverages. Smith won't have the same opportunities vs the Giants relentless pass defense. It's going to be a hard battle and low scoring game. In the end, Superbowl Champion Eli Manning marches the Giants down the field for the win in the fourth quarter. Yeah, Tim. I am there with you. G-Men demolished the Packers. 49ers have all the pressure on them at home. Let's bring it.

Please, let's have some Niner support! I fully understand that New York City is the international hub, but we live, breath, and sweat San Francisco here, so how 'bout it? Thus far, there have been two Giants fans to one 49ers, and that is simply an embarrassment, considering we are only a few miles from Candlestick Park!

I have nothing but respect for the Niners. I like Harbaugh and think what he's done is nothing short of amazing. And, whats more, the Giants and Niners both showed last weekend that Defense is still relevant in the NFL. I think the Niners are slight favored simply because they are at home. The thing is though that the Giants have more balance to their game and have proven they can play in the road in must win games as they did four years ago. Plus, the playoff and Superbowl experience. I believe this game is a true toss-up. I will also say that IF the Giants can hold onto the ball and have no more than one turnover, they will win. Our O-line is not the best so Eli is going to have his work cut out for him but I believe he will make the plays when he needs to. Gonna be a hell of a game though. Go Giants!!!!

Although I'm rooting for the Niners, I will concur that the red-hot Giants will prevail. Prediction: 30-22 Giants.
Bob Winters January 19, 2012 at 04:14 PM
For years the Niners were expected to win and they did, then for many years they were expected to lose, and they did. So much of this game (and all sports) is attitude. Harbaugh is playing with roughly the same team as last year with a few additions, but he has instilled the winning attitude. The 49ers will prevail. What has happened to Candlestick fans and fans in general? Shootings at 49er games, beatings at Dodgers games? I know a small number of idiots can ruin for the rest, but their behavior is disgusting. I heard the interview of a N.O. Saints fan who attended the game with his teenage daughters and feared for his life. These are not the 49er fans I grew up with. My daughter will be attending this week's game with her Giants fan boyfriend and his family, who are flying in from NY, and the thought of drunken punks representing the Bay Area in a horrible manner is appalling. Rivalries are great, provided fans conduct themselves like human beings, as demonstrated on this blog. Go 49ers!

I am nervous. The game means so much! Our local economy will get a boost should we come out the victor. Alas, I don't want my heart taking control, so I must maintain my original prediction. I second the "Go 49ers," Bob!
Tim January 19, 2012 at 05:49 PM
Yes Bob.... let's not let SF become the Philadelphia on the west coast..... this is the kind of crap we expect in philly. An off duty cop who went to the winter classic (rangers fan) but beaten buy a bunch of thug philly fans.

Why'd they remove the red SF on sign hill? Does that mean private citizens colored those letters, and the city colored them back white?
