Casperson Shines as Pacifica Grabs Tourney Title
Pacifica defeats Peninsula rival Millbrae to win Keith Connelly Fourth of July Invitational. Casperson named tournament MVP.
Pacifica Joe DiMaggio (18-and-under) won the Keith Connelly Fourth of July Invitational, defeating Peninsula rival Millbrae 13-3 in a five-inning mercy-ruled title game Wednesday at Veterans Home of California’s Cleve Borman Field in Yountville, the Napa Valley Register reports.
Kurtis Casperson, who’ll be a Terra Nova High senior later this year, was named the tournament MVP.
Alex Jenkins was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI to lead Pacficia.

Kodi Hudson, Jacob Martinez and Cole Watts each contributed two hits. Martinez doubled and scored three runs, and Hudson scored two and drove in one.
Casperson had a hit and drove in two runs, capping a six RBI day.

Earlier in the day, he was 3 for 4 with a homer to lead Pacifica to an 11-2 win semifinal win against Daly City.
Brett Berghammer was 4 for 5 with two extra-base hits and four runs scored in the Daly City game, and Hudson and Martinez each added three hits.
