Skin Reflections, Making Pacifica Beautiful for 15 Years

Penny Blackwell, owner of Skin Reflections The Acne Clinic and Day Spa at 1501 Palmetto Ave. in Pacifica, believes that beauty is a “creation, an invention, an experience.”

“Its achievement does not always depend upon inherited traits, features or expensive products but rather upon beauty practices that can be taught to every person,” said Blackwell.

And that’s exactly what she does. For the past 15 years while in business in Pacifica, Blackwell has dedicated her practice as an aesthetician to educating clients on skin care plans, products and nutrition.

“My passion for my profession and my concern for my clients commits me to providing a rare quality of service,” said Blackwell who’s lived in Pacifica for the past 12 years. “I believe every person deserves beautiful skin.”

Next to skin care and aging and acne facials, Blackwell offers many other spa services such as massage therapy, glycolic acid treatments, microdermabrasion, lash extensions, collagen eye treatment, and body waxing.

On Oct. 24 she celebrated the business’s 15-year anniversary in Pacifica with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“Penny is a valued Chamber member,” said Courtney Conlon, CEO of the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce, “and is a very interesting and giving woman. She also makes doll houses and donates them to Pacifica Relay for Life to raffle off and to the Pacifica Resource Center for their Rockaway Beach Stroll.”

When it comes to running Skin Reflections, Blackwell is a one woman show with no employees but says this is what makes her business so intimate, allowing her to get to know her clients and specialize in a variety of services like acne problem prone skin, rosacea and hydrating and anti-aging facials.

Most of her clients are local or from surrounding cities, she said, and right now she’s offering 15 percent off on all of her services for all new clients through Dec. 31, 2013.

“I look forward to serving them all beautifully,” she said.
