New Gift Shop Opens in Pacifica, OK Liquors Becomes a Chamber Member

Our column brings you the latest in small business news from Pacifica.

OPENED: Yonder Shop, 158 Reina Del Mar, Vallemar, Pacifica

There's a new home goods store in town. Yonder Shop just opened last week on Nov. 15 and will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, Nov. 21 to celebrate its grand opening and Pacifica Chamber of Commerce membership. The gift shop is filled with specialty items curated from, well, yonder. Owner Linda Fahey is excited to offer Pacificans a "creative retail therapy experience" with one-of-a-kind pieces she's carefully culled from small companies all over the world such as paper goods and food items to apothecary products, textiles and ceramics. The store will double as a studio space where Fahey, a ceramicist, will work on her art, which can also be found at One King's Lane and Anthropology stores. She's also offering her space for events and is looking forward to working with other businesses, having recently been appointed to Pacifica's Economic Development Committee. Yonder Shop will be open Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call 650-303-9216 for more information.

NEW OWNERSHIP: OK Liquors, 1021 Terra Nova Blvd., Pacifica

Kal Patel, who took over OK Liquors in the Park Mall earlier this year, was officially welcomed to the community with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony last week. Mayor Len Stone, Pacifica Police Captain Dan Steidle, Council member Karen Ervin, Chamber CEO Courtney Harris Conlon and Chamber board members were there to partake in the festivities, which included tacos from The Red Rooster food truck. Since taking over OK Liquors, Patel has cleaned the store and got rid of a lot of clutter. He reorganized the merchandise and will keep the same merchandise of wine, beer and soda, but will also stock the store with wines that are otherwise hard to find in Pacifica. Let him know what you'd like to see in stock!
