MindBright!: Meditation For Your Stressed Out Brain This Holiday

The George Greenstein Institute (GGI), a new Pacifica-based, Science+Art Center, is offering a 4-week crash course to give you the brain knowledge tips and training needed to manage the stress and ensure a holiday that lights up your heart!

GGI's MindBright! Management:
Neuroscience shows us that you need a minimum of 40 days to create new habits and make significant … and lasting change in your life!  Join us as we teach you the Mind Bright(tm) method to cultivate more joy, peace, and connection, and leave those memories of frantic and stressful holidays in the past: Protect yourself from the Humbug!

In Honor of Mr. Dickens our four sessions celebrate the journey of Scrooge as he finds happiness and joy!


The Spirit of The Past - Week 1, Wednesday, November 13th:
  Explore Meditation Techniques through cultivating a personal sense of Joy.  Learn a three-step process to immediately shift into a calm, positive state no matter where you are and what you are doing.  Create an action plan to put the joy into your Holiday Season.  7:00-8:30pm

The Spirit of The Present
 - Week 2, Wednesday, November 20th:  Experience being fully present.   Let the experience of being fully present in your Body enhance your enjoyment of the holiday season with your family and loved ones. Learn to manage overstimulation and refocus with three simple actions. 7:00-8:30pm

The Spirit of The Future
 - Week 3, Wednesday, December 4th:  Cultivate Compassion.  Explore how we connect with others and how to bring more awareness, empathy, and kindness to all of our interactions.  Focus your energy on maintaining the relationships most essential to your well-being.  Take away three tips to stir up some “Minute-Made Compassion” whenever needed. 7:00-8:30pm

Brand New Day! - Week 4, Wednesday, December 11th:
  Un-Wrapping the Present.  In the final week, we integrate all the tips learned in the previous weeks and discuss applications of the  MindBright! method to participants’ specific inquiries. 7:00-8:30pm

GGI Lead Trainer 
Dr. M. A. Greenstein is the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer / R&D of The George Greenstein Institute (GGI ) - a Science+Arts center dedicated to creating access to brain knowledge and brain health for all.A new member of the Pacifica community, Dr. Greenstein has dedicated her life long energies to advancing the art and neuroscience of creative problem-solving for the public good. As a pioneer AsiaPacific researcher of Asian mind/body integration practices, Dr. Greenstein paved the way for the current generation galvanized by practical, therapeutic and creative application of mindfulness and spatial intelligence. Her Adjunct Assoc. Prof affiliation with Art Center College of Design has enabled her to impart the wisdom of designing with the brain in mind for biotech, applied neuroscience and prototyping new reality zones for healthy “bodies in space.” Dr. G. serves as an applied neuroscience advisor to MICASocialDesign Masters Program, The Lifeboat Foundation, and to the Singapore and South African arts and science (aka STE+AM) communities. A Fulbright scholar to Taiwan/China and a former AsiaPacific researcher, Dr. Greenstein currently works at intersection of Science+Arts integrating applied neuroscience, contemplative practice and design thinking for innovation in wellness.

GGI Inventio! Trainer
Angela A. Justice has practiced and led mindfulness meditation since 1998. Deeply steeped in the Chan tradition of Buddhism, the ancestor of modern day Zen, she enjoys translating concepts from ancient texts into practical advice for everyday situations.  During her early formation, she also studied in the Dzogchen tradition.
