Parcel Tax Measure Breaches Supermajority

All precincts are reporting and the a supermajority of voters have approved the measure.

With all precincts reporting Measure L recieved a 68.78 percent approval rating--more than enough to pass. The outcome is not official yet and will be confirmed at the earliest tomorrow morning.

Today Pacifica voters will decide whether or not to extend and increase the 's parcel tax. How will you vote?

The school district's current parcel tax expires in 2013, but if is approved it would increase from $96 a year to $118 a year until 2017.

The tax would generate $1.2 million annually for math, science, reading and writing programs, as well as protect teachers’ salaries and funding for libraries, struggling students, and classroom computer instruction.

If you haven't sent in your mail-in ballot, head to one of the in Pacifica between 7a.m. and 8p.m. today.
