Voting Date For a "Second Try" at a JUHSD Parcel Tax Set

Voters will send in a mail-in ballot by May 3.

The Jefferson Union High School District Board met on yesterday and discussed the upcoming at passing a parcel tax for the school district, which would be levied on property owners, including those in Pacifica.

The tax would be similar to the failed , which voters killed in November. 

Two ballot dates were on the board for the election: May 3 and May 17.

Dale Scott, of Dale Scott and Company, a voting consultant firm, presented the board with ballot language and professional advice regarding the pros and cons of both proposed dates. After much debate over ballot language and a public hearing, the date for the parcel tax election will be May 3 with a mail-in ballot.
