Terra Nova High Receives Funds From Wells Fargo Grant

Wells Fargo presented 43 $1,000 checks to Peninsula schools, including Terra Nova High School, at a breakfast event held in Foster City on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Managers of Wells Fargo stores selected which neighborhood schools would receive the $1,000 grants, and reiterated an offer to have store team members volunteer at local schools when needed.

“Wells Fargo values our communities where our team members live and work,” said Wendy Haller, president of Wells Fargo’s Peninsula market.

“One way we help our local communities is by providing funds to our local schools. Each of our Peninsula store managers selected one school that would receive a $1,000 grant. And principals will be able to spend the money on however they feel it will best benefit their students. We appreciate all the hard work educators do to teach our next generation of leaders.”

In 2012, Wells Fargo donated $22.4 million to local schools and nonprofits. The Chronicle of Philanthropy ranked Wells Fargo as the No. 1 Most Generous Cash Donor for its philanthropic giving in 2012; the company donated $315 million to schools and nonprofits nationally--$61 million supported California organizations.

Half Moon Bay High and Daniel Webster Elementary School, Majorie Tobias Elementary School and Westlake Elementary in Daly City also received a $1,000 grant as part of the Wells Fargo’s Peninsula market.
