Outstanding Students Recognized at School Board Meeting

Two students were honored at the Jefferson Union High School board meeting.

Tuesday’s Jefferson Union High School District board meeting highlighted the accomplishments of two high school students: Krizza Agustin and Jasmine Dayrit.

Agustin, recent mid-term Jefferson High School graduate, was awarded the Student of the Month for January.

Only 8 of over 5,000 students at JUHSD are chosen as Student of the Month per year.

Raised in the Phillipines, Agustin moved to the states at the age of eight. Once in high school, she was in student government for four years, ran the Donation for AIDS program, and, as a senior, was elected Associate Student Body (ASB) president, a position she held until she graduated in December.

With her 4.0 GPA, she currently attends City College. Later, she plans to transfer to a UC or CSU program for her bachelor’s degree.

Also honored was Jasmine Dayrit, senior. Dayrit was installed as the Student Board Representative.

Dayrit has acted in student government all four years of high school, and she is now ASB president.

After high school, Dayrit’s college plans include attending University of the Pacific and exploring law.
