Pumpkin Patch Fun

Mrs. McManis' 2nd grade class from Vallemar School enjoyed an afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch.

Maureen McManis' 2nd grade from Vallemar School had an outing to the Pumpkin Patch on Cabrillo Hwy today.

The students ran around the field, choosing just the right pumpkin from a selection of thousands.  Some students wanted the biggest one they could pick up, while some of the other kids went to the small ornamental pumpkins.

Many walked around two gigantic pumpkins, in awe that jack-o-lanterns could be that big.

Once they chose their pumpkin, their name was written on the bottom for transport back to the classroom.

"We're here to choose pumpkins," said McManis. "And then head back to school to decorate them."

To end the field trip, shoes came off quickly and a line formed in front of the bouncy house. Lots of laughs, giggles, and joyful shouts completed this fun afternoon event.
