Cabrillo Student Will Jump Rope for Kids with "Special Hearts"

She has asked the community to donate to the American Heart Association.

As part of an American Heart Association program, student Samantha Edwards will jump rope to raise awareness about children with "special hearts" and to learn about taking care of her own heart.

Samantha is also currently raising money for the American Heart Association through her webpage, and has asked the community, through a YouTube video, to donate to her cause.

According to the American Heart Association website, when kids participate in the Jump Rope for Heart program, they raise money to help children with heart problems prior to the jump date, Feb. 17. Then they will all jump rope for as long as they can, learning about their heart and how to keep it healthy along the way.
