VIDEO: County Will Match $4,000 in Energy Rebates

Pacifica residents can cash in on a total of $8,000 in rebates by making their homes more energy efficient.

San Mateo County residents cal already receive up to $4,000 in rebates from PG&E for energy upgrades. And now, they are eligible for another $4,000 from the county’s new Energy Upgrade program, San Mateo County Supervisor Dave Pine announced yesterday.

Homeowners have until March 2012 to take advantage of the county’s program.

Though Gary has also installed solar panels on his roof and drives an electric car, it’s the small steps that have actually reduced his overall energy use. Gary, who preferred not to have his last name printed, is reducing his carbon footprint with double paned windows and a hallway sun tube to let in more light.
