Other facts

As a business woman and the 2010 President the Chamber of Commerce, I implemented change within our organization, brought on new leadership and changed the course for the betterment of our business community. City Council is the next step and needs an infusion of business owners with experience in balancing budgets, marketing, and a business plan.

My main goals are to build the reserves by increasing our revenue streams and work collectively with the Chamber of Commerce in marketing our City for new businesses and tourism.

I serve my community through Rotary of Pacifica and liaison to the Terra Nova Rotary Club. My 2011 President project brought businesses and a generous Past District Governor together, willing to donate time, material, and labor in replacing the entire roof at Spindrift Playhouse.

Council just approved the project and it will begin shortly. Organized the fundraiser “Hearts on Fire” for the Pacifica Fire Dept. off road vehicle. Board Director for Pacifican’s Care, Vice President Chamber of Commerce, Past President Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Liaison for the GGNRA, Committee Member for the Beautification Task Force.

I am currently working on a project with the Chamber of Commerce Hospitality and Tourism Committee. Pacifica can and will be a destination for seaside weddings. Venues such as hotels, restaurants, the Castle, and Sanchez Hall are available for all socio-economic levels. Relevant businesses will participate as a collective in producing/ financing marketing brochures and participate as vendors in Wedding Expos. This form of business and income will increase our TOT and sales tax for the General Fund.

Open dialogue with the Corporations that own the larger retail areas and identify the people who are able to enact change. Find solutions for a win-win situation for our City, businesses, and those entities by the continuation of streamlining the planning dept process. Adjust fees when possible to entice smaller businesses, and be receptive to new ideas. I look forward to your support.
