Voters approve sales tax increase, electing supervisors by district and decide that county controller should not be appointed.

Late Tuesday, voters approved the so-called "Jail Tax" and amended the San Mateo County Charter be amended so that each member of the Board of Supervisors cease to be elected by an at-large vote of all the voters in the County, but instead be elected only by the voters of his or her district.

However, San Mateo County residents spoke loud and clear that they do not want the county controller simply appointed to office.

Show the millionaires and billionaires they CAN'T buy California's elections! Vote YES on Proposition 30 and NO on Propositions 32, 33 and 38.

I wish there weren't so many propositions to vote on every election cycle. If our so called representatives did their jobs instead of just waste our money, it wouldn't be necessary. We've got to start sending better people to office.

If I voted yes on most of these measures, I would be broke once they take place. I too would be put into the low income bracket. What a deal.

Water, garbage, and P.G.E. will be going up also. Add that to sales tax increases and parcel taxes wow. This is a repeated problem. The election is not even over and the CSU is already talking about raising fees on students, even if prop. 30 passes. Already breaking promises and the election isn't even over.
