Pacifica's Westside Baptist Church and Sunset Ridge School Saw Voters Trickle in Yesterday

Voter turn-out yesterday in San Mateo County was low, but the number of vote-by-mail ballots were up according to election officials. They predicted 35-40 percent of all ballots cast would be in the form of mailed in ballot.

Though election day in Pacifica progressed without many hold-ups, at Westiside Baptist Church, a technological problem forced voters to use paper ballots from approximately 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Kyle Jensen, an election official at the polls at Sunset Ridge Elementary, said that the demographic of voters requesting to use paper ballots throughout the day skewed older than voters who preferred using voting machines.
