Pacifica City Council Reorganizes With New Mayor

Pacifica Mayor Len Stone stepped down from his position Monday evening as the Pacifica City Council elected a new mayor and mayor pro-tem as part of its annual reorganizational process.

Mary Ann Nihart was elected as the new mayor and Councilwoman Karen Ervin was elected as mayor pro-tem.

"I'm happy how the year went and with what we were able to accomplish," said Stone, who this past year as mayor set out to establish a new communication plan and economic plan and an initiative for a home remodel program, which is slated for finalization by the first part of 2014. "We have a really great Council right now with Mary Ann as mayor, and I'm happy with the direction we're going in as a team."

Stone, Sue Digre and Mike O'Neill will continue as councilmembers.

"Looking forward to the new year," said O'Neill, "and that Pacifica will be in a better place in 2014."
