Final Special Election Results Announced; Pine Still Victorious, Measure C Fails

Elections Manager David Tom released the final and complete numbers this afternoon.

Despite a very close race for an open seat on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, a final vote tally this afternoon confirmed Tuesday night's preliminary special election results pointing to Dave Pine as the winner. 

Two school district parcel tax measures passed and one failed.

Despite the last-minute hopes of and , who trailed behind in the early results by 1.2 percent and 1.4 percent respectively, to pull ahead once all votes were counted, it was actually Pine who pulled further ahead, according to the vote count released today.

In total, 88,904 ballots were cast, 26.05 percent of registered voters in San Mateo County. Of those ballots, 88,739 were cast by mail. Pine scored 23,856, or 27.81 percent, of those, while Holober and Papan received 26 percent and 25.41 percent respectively. P

The Jefferson Union High School District's parcel tax, , picked up a little steam since the early numbers were released, but still fell well short of the 2/3 majority approval it needed for passage.

The Ravenswood City School District's Measure B, a parcel tax, was approved by a 67.88 percent majority made up of 782 ballots and the San Carlos School District's Measure A, also a parcel tax, received the approval of 81.46 percent, or 6,374 votes.
