Congresswoman Jackie Speier to Speak at Pacifica-Daly City Democrats Meeting

Due to limited space and the popularity of the Congresswoman's previous Coastside appearances, this is a RSVP only event; no "drop-in's" will be allowed on the day of the meeting.

Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) will address the morning breakfast meeting of the Pacifica-Daly City Democrats on Saturday, September 21, in the rear Banquet Room of the Sharp Park Golf Course Restaurant, Sharp Park Boulevard and Highway 1, Pacifica.

Her topics will include: military rape and sexual assault, Veteran's Disability Benefits backlogs, women's health issues and the Affordable Health Care Act implementation.

Congresswoman Speier, first elected to Congress in 2008, has served the residents of the San Francisco Peninsula for more than 29 years, first as a San Mateo County Supervisor and later as a State Assemblywoman and a State Senator.

Currently, Congresswoman Speier serves on the Committee on Government Oversight and Government Reform, where she is Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Healthcare, and Entitlements; including a subcommittee that authorizes procurement and R&D programs to ensure that America's soldiers and airmen are fully equipped to carry out their mission to keep our nation safe. She is also a member of the Democratic Party's leadership team, as Senior Whip, working within the Democratic Caucus to push issues that will create jobs and strengthen the middle class.

In January 2013, Congresswoman Speier was appointed to serve as a Vice Chair of a new congressional Gun Violence Prevention Task Force that is investigating new steps that Congress can take now, and n the future, to reduce gun violence and prevent massacres like the shootings that happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Ct.

All Pacifica-Daly City Democrats meetings are open to the public. A full breakfast is available for $12; continental breakfast- $6; coffee only $3.
