What You Saw: Inside Vista Park

Shaken by the commotion of the police search-and-rescue effort in Vista Park, San Carlos residents share their experiences and what they witnessed last night.

“My wife and daughter went up to Crestview Drive after numerous police were seen up there,” said concerned resident Bob Winters. “There was a truck with a large spotlight,” he said.

Resident Gil Bergman seconded Winters experiences.

“I saw lots of law enforcement and search and rescue last night and this morning,” said resident Bergman. “Helicopters too.”

Both residents heard what is at this time only rumors and false reports. No reports of a missing person has been confirmed by the police. Reports of missing joggers and hikers are rumors at this time and have not yet been confirmed by the authorities.

“There was a San Mateo Search and Rescue mobile command center unit,  40-pus individuals involved in the effort, and a Police helicopter used to search the canyon below Vista Park,” said resident Michelle Orderon. “The search effort went from before 5:30 and the flood lights used were on until about 11 p.m.”
