Update: Passenger Allegedly Stabs Taxi Driver

Court has found Pacifica woman not competent to stand trial.

Today the San Mateo District Attorney released an update to the court proceedings of the 21-year-old Pacifica woman who was arrested in March on suspicion of stabbing a taxi cab driver in the neck and stealing the cab.

Court proceedings have been suspended until June 26 because court doctors found the defendant not competent to stand trial. Aldeguer remains in custody on $500,000 bail.

Aldeguer had entered the cab near Serramonte Center in Daly City before the incident occurred on the way to Pacifica. The driver was able to exit the cab, and injuries were not life-threatening.

The cab was later found near a Pacifica park with a knife inside. The vehicle’s video camera recorded the attack.

Information in this report was provided by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
