Two Injured In Head-On Crash On Devil's Slide

One party was airlifted to Stanford Hospital after a vehicle entered the northbound lane and collided with another vehicle.

Two people are injured after a head-on crash near the top of the grade on Devil's Slide this afternoon. 

The California Highway Patrol and other emergency agencies first received reports of the accident on Highway 1 at about 1:22p.m. today, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckherdt said.

Traffic was closed in both directions at Linda Mar in the north and Motorcycle Hill in the south after emergency crews arrived. A helicopter landed on the roadway to airlift one injured person to Stanford Hospital. The other injured person was driven via ambulence to San Francisco General, Van Eckherdt said.

The crash was described as a passenger vehicle on "carpool style" van. 

No further details are available yet as to the identities of the injured or their conditions.
