Two Alarm Fire Burns Building, Vehicles in Pacifica

Firefighting efforts were hampered by the wind.

North County Firefighters battled wind-driven flames Saturday morning at a fire that hit a commercial building and several vehicles in the 1000 block of Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica. The business is described as a towing yard. No one was injured.

When firefighters arrived just after 7:15 a.m. they found “a working fire involving multiple vehicles and extending to an out-building, according to a written statement from Matt Lucett, Public Information Officer at North County Fire. “Using hose lines firefighters surrounded the vehicles and building involved and extinguished the fire, which was particularly challenging due to moderate off-shore winds in the area.”

Firefighters spent several hours are the scene, making sure that hot-spots were extinguished.
