Theft Spree Hits Montara Monday Night

Small electronics and other items were taken from several unlocked cars around upper East Avenue.

A series of thefts occurred around upper East Avenue in Montara Monday night, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.

Small electronics and other items were stolen from unlocked cars. The thefts occurred between 5:30p.m. Monday night and 6:30a.m. Tuesday morning.

The office issued a reminder to residents to keep their vehicles locked and to take valuables inside their homes.

“Many people live and visit our neighborhoods, so keeping your valuables locked, safe, and secure helps prevent crimes of opportunity,” Owen Yoch, a sheriff’s office representative, said.
