SWAT Team Arrests Shooting Suspect [VIDEO]

After eluding 15 SWAT members Tuesday night, suspect Sammy Turner was apprehended this morning.

San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies approached the residence on Coronado and Isabella in El Granada at 11 a.m. The sirens on their marked vehicles were blaring to indicate to the suspect, 19-year-old Sammy Turner, that they had arrived and did not intend a surprise entrance.

Two officers walked through the front door with guns drawn and no announcement.

Minutes later, they emerged with a young man in handcuffs.

Bystanders indicated that the young man was Sammy Turner, the sought-after suspect from the standoff Tuesday night.

Thank God a loved one of many was not critically hurt due to the mental instability of little Sammy. I know both of those kids and it is really sad to see such a tragic turn of events. I am very thankful for the Half Moon Bay Police Department, Sheriffs Department and SWAT for making the outcome as peaceable as possible. They did a great job handling this situation and we owe them a great deal of gratitude. God bless all families involved and hopefully Sammy will get the treatment he has so desperately needed for many years.
