Structure Fire Extinguished on Palmetto this Morning

Fire crews responded at 5:59 a.m.

Fire crews extinguished a single alarm apartment fire on Palmetto Avenue this morning.

At 5:59 a.m., four fire companies and one fire investigator were dispatched to 1048 Palmetto Ave., said North County Fire Authority spokesman Matt Lucett. As the first company arrived, they reported seeing smoke rise form the eaves of the single-story structure. Crews made entry, found the fire near the ceiling and extinguished it with a hose.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, said Lucett. No one was hurt.
