Small Vegetation Fire on Montara Mountain Contained by Firefighters

Cal Fire crews work to extinguish a fire that broke out on Montara Mountain Wednesday afternoon.

A small fire on Montara Mountain was extinguished by Cal Fire crews at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday.

A significant amount of haze and smoke was reported as far as Linda Mar Beach area in Pacifica.

"Clearly smells like a grass fire," said Erin Macias of Pacifica.

The fire was first reported at about 1:30 p.m.

Cal Fire officials called the fire a "slow-moving fire of less than an acre" that did not threaten any structures. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
