Sheriff's Office and Pacifica Police Check Compliance of 160 Registered Sex Offenders
20 could not be contacted
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and the Pacifica Police Department along with 11 other law enforcement agencies on Wednesday conducted a compliance check on 160 registered sex offenders living throughout the county.
More than 140 sex offenders in nine cities, coastal districts and unincorporated areas were found to be living at their registered addresses and complying with the terms of their probation or parole, San Mateo County sheriff spokesman Lt. Ray Lunny said.
About 20 other registered offenders were not at home when the compliance officers tried to contact them, Lunny said. Follow-up investigations will be conducted to determine their status.
