A judge has ordered a man who was a 17-year-old girl in San Bruno to stand trial, the San Mateo District Attorney's Office said.
David Blackwell, 49, of San Francisco reportedly was pimping the girl on the adult escort website MyRedbook.com, according to the district attorney's office.
He allegedly kept the teenager in his San Francisco condominium and required she be available at all times to service potential clients, prosecutors said. He also allegedly held a gun to the girl.
In May, he was arrested at a motel in San Bruno where he had gone with the girl.
Blackwell faces charges of pandering, pimping and assault with a deadly weapon. However, a San Mateo County Superior Court judge dismissed human trafficking and kidnapping charges against him during the preliminary hearing.
The trial for Blackwell, who remains in custody on $1 million bail, is expected to start on Aug. 20. His defense attorney is now trying to get his bail reduced to $100,000 because the human trafficking charges were dismissed.
Blackwell has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
