Student Sexually Assaulted at Skyline College

The assault happened when a female was in a classroom on campus about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A student was sexually assaulted at on Tuesday night, police said. 

Police responded to a report of an assault about 8:30 p.m. on the campus. The victim told officers she was in a classroom by herself when a man came in the room and sexually assaulted her. The man then fled the room, and police are now investigating the incident.

Police confirmed Thursday that the victim was a student. 

The attacker was described as a 5-foot-11 white man who is about 25 years old to 30 years old with an athletic build and a tattoo or scar on his neck.

Police said the San Mateo County Community College District's public safety department has notified its students and faculty about the assault.  

"The San Bruno Police Department in conjunction with the San Mateo County Community College District Public Safety Department reminds everyone to adhere to sound personal safety practices at all times and in all public places," the Police Department said in a statement. 

Anyone with information about Tuesday's assault is asked to call the San Bruno Police Department at 650-616-7100.
