San Carlos Man Arrested For Alleged Lewd Acts with 10-Year-Old

A San Carlos man was arrested and charged with 12-counts of lewd acts.

San Carlos resident Yung Chi Chu was arrested Wednesday night and charged with 12 acts of lewd acts with a 10-year-old girl, police said.

Chu was also charged with one count of sending harmful matter with the intent of seducing a minor and one count of contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, police said.

 Police responded to a call from the victim’s parents who became concerned when their daughter began receiving “an inappropriate number of cell phone call and text messages from a family friend,” read a police report.

 Chu, a former I.T. technician for the Menlo park City School District, was identified as that family friend.

 A search warrant was issued after police obtained evidence from the young girl that led to Chu, though the report did not specify what that evidence was.
