Ruptured Gas Pipeline Triggers Evacuation

Fire crews found a four-inch leak in a gas pipeline on the 300 block of Glencourt way. Four fire companies and one chief were on the scene. No injuries were reported.

Fire crews responded to a report of a ruptured gas pipeline in Pacifica that led to the evacuation of two homes.

The gas leak on the 300 block of Glencourt Way was first reported at 1:37 p.m. The first North County Fire Authority crew on the scene reported a four-inch leak.

Four fire companies and one chief were on the scene, where residents of two homes were evacuated and those at a third home were “sheltered in place.”

No injuries were reported.

It took approximately four hours for firefighters in coordination with PG&E to secure the leak, after which time residents were allowed to return to their homes.
