An elderly Pacifica woman who earlier this week suffers from early dementia, the San Mateo Daily Journal reports.
Maria “Marlies”Jansen, 76, was last seen by her husband Wednesday afternoon in the Park Pacific area of Pacifica, authorities said.
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department search and rescue teams aided police in their search for the missing woman through dusk on Thursday.
The search is expected to continue at daybreak and possibly into Saturday, Pacifica Police Sgt. D. Wachtelborn told Patch. Police have also received mutual aid assistance from agencies from outside the county and have requested additional assistance for continued search efforts, Wachtelborn said.
Jansen is a 5-foot-5 100-pound Caucasian with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing yellow “croc” type shoes.
